My Riverbeds
Dina Baitassova’s solo exhibition
The first solo exhibition by artist Dina Baitassova, curated by Nargiz Magaeva. The works form a visual diary of an inner journey that began fifteen years ago.
Through alchemy and mythology, the exhibition explores identity, spiritual searching and transformation. The artist builds her own mythology around her surname: “Bai-tas” means a precious stone, and the stone becomes the exhibition’s key symbol.
The space follows the three stages of the alchemical process. Nigredo is an immersion into chaos and the beginning of the search; Albedo, rebirth and a new view of the world; Rubedo, the fusion of the personal and the universal, where the central image becomes the mountain — a symbol of the Great Mother in Turkic mythology. The journey culminates in finding one’s true self.
